I've kinda been wondering a bit about styles of art, primarily the differences of Shoujo and Shounen art styles. And it got me thinking why I liked drawing Shounen instead of Shoujo. It wasn't until I started this picture that my question was soon answered. No sooner had I started drawing Lanky my younger brother nearly flipped out. He was telling me every possible way to make Lanky more masculine, which isn't possible since Lanky isn't supposed to be a masculine character.
Then my own Mother saw the picture and she started doing the same thing. It is quite obvious now why I draw Shounen style art and it's because if I drew anything less masculine I would have been disowned by my parents and sent into exile, probably.
Doesn't bother me because I like the Shounen style, but it's hard when you're trying to draw a picture for someone else who's character is not quite so masculine. So, for poor Lanky here, this is the most masculine he will ever appear in his entire existence, again probably.

You use a lot of tools on this. I like it. It looks very Shoujo good job! For that style he doesn't look girly, but that must be because I know what guys in that style typically look like. As for your parents, just give them some slack. They aren't artist.
